Well, the other day I had a useful thought, one that I have had before but must have tucked it away in exchange for me pity party.
I HAVE a cook, her name is Crock Pot. She will slave in the kitchen all day and even keep the fire going at night while I attend to other important things. If I only put her to work! She needs a good set of instructions or she just sits there staring at you. Can't anyone get some good help around here? Oh well, she's not an automatic.
One deterent to a lot of health conscious people when it comes to cooking meals in the crock pot are the recipes. They tend to be chalk full of processed foods we wouldn't dream of eating under normal circumstances but that's clearly all the crock pot will cook...or is it?
Thanks to a simple search on the web I found there are lots of whole food recipes - 100 Days, 365, one year, lots of titles of blogs about just that! I was thrilled! I finally, after a couple weeks of being in survival after a month road trip mode, had a plan to hand my cook! And there is even dessert and breakfast to be crocked!
Here is what I made tonight

Made with leftovers from this creamy Italian chicken and rice

Let's put our cooks to work and not sacrifice the health of our families!
